On December 10, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LBTU) Fish Processing Biotechnology Study and Research Center will host the event "Blue Innovations on the Horizon," organized by the EIT Food Hub Latvia. The event invites participants to learn more about science and innovation in the fisheries sector.

"This initiative is designed to promote consumer engagement, create a platform for the exchange of ideas and questions, and inspire scientists and entrepreneurs to come up with new, sustainable solutions for the development of the blue economy," says Ilze Laukalēja-Broka, Head of the EIT Food Representation in Latvia.

During the event, participants will have the opportunity to tour the LBTU Fish Processing Biotechnology Study and Research Center, see the latest research being carried out in the fisheries sector, learn about the technologies and processes driving the development of the blue economy, and engage in informal discussions with scientists. To encourage dialogue, attendees can submit their questions or ideas in advance. By participating, attendees will discover how consumer involvement can help drive innovation in the food sector.

The event is free of charge, but space is limited. To secure a spot and receive detailed information, registration is required via the provided link. The data provided in the registration form will be used only for communication regarding the event.

This is the first event in a new series of consumer and science collaboration events, with additional thematic events planned for the coming months in various LBTU laboratories. We encourage you to follow the updates on the LBTU website and become part of our shared mission to create a sustainable food future.
