International Scientific Conference "EcoTech 2024" opened
On November 19, the 14th International Scientific Conference "EcoTech 2024" was officially opened, held for the first time outside Sweden at Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LBTU) in Jelgava. The conference brings together over 100 participants from 20 countries, who share best practices, research, and their results, as well as discuss the latest trends in bioeconomics research. The conference will last for three days, concluding on November 22.
The "EcoTech 2024" conference is a tradition at Linnaeus University (Sweden) since 1997. One of its main goals is to foster collaboration between universities, businesses, and policymakers, promoting feedback and relationships to develop environmental technologies and ensure long-term sustainability in the Baltic Sea region and worldwide, improving the quality of life locally and globally.
The conference covers several knowledge-intensive fields of bioeconomics research, including agriculture and food, forestry, biodiversity and conservation, climate and ecology, energy and climate neutrality, environmental engineering, sustainability and green technologies, infrastructure and sustainability, pollution, water and hydrology, geography, geophysics, geochemistry, geology, and soil science.
"EcoTech 2024" will focus on contemporary environmental challenges, which have evolved from local issues into global problems, impacting ecosystems and the sustainable development of society. The conference provides a unique platform for experienced and emerging researchers from the Baltic Sea region to exchange information, discuss the latest trends in environmental protection, and promote collaboration and innovation.
Scientific papers will be reviewed in advance and published in the IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science (EES), an open-access journal, and indexed in databases such as Elsevier SCOPUS, Clarivate Analytics, and Web of Science.
