From October 10 to 12, Tallinn, Estonia will host the largest Nordic and Baltic impact and sustainability festival "Impact day", where entrepreneurs, public organizations, policy makers and interested parties who care about the implementation and implementation of sustainable solutions are invited to participate. This year, the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LBTU) is participating for the first time as the creator of the festival, which will present its contribution to creating a better and more sustainable future to festival visitors.

At the "Impact Day" sustainability festival, the most successful ambassadors of sustainability from the Nordic and Baltic countries will take the stage, who will share their experience and provide new knowledge to others, how it is possible to change the direction and principles of activities of organizations and institutions in various fields, so that they achieve sustainability goals. Among them will be LBTU scientists who will tell how research and its results can help entrepreneurs and how it can improve the quality of life in society.

Over three days, more than 75 different hands-on workshops, discussions, panel sessions and competitions will take place at the Põhjala factory in Tallinn, ending with an entertaining cultural program. They are united by the common theme "Less is more", which is the main idea of this year's festival. On the first two days of the festival, the program is more devoted to topics of interest to businessmen, but on the third day of the festival, citizens are invited to visit it in order to get an idea of what each member of society can do individually in their daily life to leave a positive impact on the environment and society.

Impact Day 2024 is organized by international companies such as SEB, Social enterprise Estonia, Lindstrom, Lidl and Elise together with LBTU and Tallinn University of Technology as the creator of the festival. Last year, 2,690 people visited the Impact Day and 181 speakers performed on the stage, including the former president of Estonia, Kersti Kaljulaida.

At this year's festival, LBTU will be able to meet both in discussions about food packaging and the one health approach, as well as in the exhibition hall. Visitors will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the research carried out by the university's scientists and learn about cooperation directions and technology transfer.
