LLU invites students to apply for the international conference "Students on their Way to Science"
On April 22, 2022, the 17th International Scientific Conference “Students on their Way to Science” will be held in Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies, where students from Latvia and other countries are invited to participate to share their research results and obtain first experience in participating in an international conference. The conference is organized by LLU and will take place on a virtual platform.
The aim of the conference is to promote scientific research and create an experience of intercultural communication. As the working language of the conference is English, the development of foreign language skills is one of the major benefits for conference participants. At the same time, students have the opportunity to approbate the results of their bachelor's, master's and doctoral research, as well as to gain knowledge about the research of the represented field of science in other countries.
The conference was once an initiative of the teaching staff of the LLU Language Centre to give students the opportunity to improve their English language skills, but for a couple of years now it has been recognized as one of the largest student scientific conferences in Central and Eastern Europe.
Students have the opportunity to apply to the conference by March 25 in a variety of disciplines: social sciences, agriculture, veterinary medicine, food science, engineering, education, information technology, environment and construction, forestry, and woodworking. A collection of abstracts will be available electronically after the conference.
Detailed information on applying for the conference is available on the website https://www.sws.llu.lv/call-for-abstracts.
Last year, the conference was attended by more than 240 participants with 92 reports from Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Cyprus, Turkey, France, etc. countries. Collection of abstracts are published in the conference website.
