In a state of emergency, LLU organizes a distance learning process in all programs
Due to the global spread of the COVID-19 virus and the emergency declared by the Latvian government, from March 13 to April 14, LLU stops the implementation of face-to-face lectures and organizes the study process remotely using the e-learning environment. It is also planned to organize the practical classes in the e-learning environment and to transfer the laboratory works to a later stage of studies. All public events organized by the LLU have also been cancelled or postponed.
The activities of the University during the next month are determined by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers and the corresponding decree of the Rector's Regulation of LLU “On safety measures at Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies to prevent the spread of COVID-19 virus”.
In an emergency situation, it is important for LLU to ensure social distance that would reduce the spread of COVID-19 in Latvia. All business trips outside the Latvia territory are cancelled. In addition, the management of the University urges students and staff to be responsible, to care for and monitor their health, not to travel abroad for personal issues, and to follow the preventive measures prescribed by the Ministry of Health for residents of Latvia and keep up to date.
It is important to note that the operation of the University is not stopped because in LLU even in exceptional circumstances it is important to maintain the quality of studies and to ensure the students a full-time education.
